I've considered giving a photography intro course to a group of my interested friends. I'm not saying I am an expert, but I certainly have a solid foundation of the fundamentals.
And in fact, a friend of mine who has a small photography business, mentioned starting an SLR "get to know your camera" course last week and in the first class, learned a bunch of new things.
So, there's always room to learn and I agree, having a mentor is going to net one so much more information.
