I think I've come to the conclusion my 1964 Hermes Baby is the perfect traveler. Its not the Holy Grail, but for traveling, I just can't beat the size (and quality at that size).
Now, my Holy Grail, at this point, is the Lettera 32 (I haven't typed on a 22, so I can't judge that), as it feels like a desktop model despite its size.
Your first picture of the Ponderosa Cabins sign brings up a lot of memories and images -- something about the word "kitchenette" conjures up all sorts of flashbacks to a time half a century ago, traveling with my parents in the western states as a kid.
