"...avoid conflict with strangers..." I think we are both missing the same gene. On stage I can snap away and make good portraits, or even when invited to do so. But cold on the street, I only wish I could. Looking at your streetscapes and the occasional ground-level associations with water, or the absence of it, makes me see the pavement as a shoreline and buildings as cliffs. Littoral vs Literal Street Photography. And this connection enters the language with a "sea" of people, rush hour's ebb and flow and traffic "islands". NM has great skies!
