Passed that very landmark on my own ABQ <-> Farmington run recently. Big Chief must have looked like an oasis back in the day, out on lonesome 550
Excellent post, Joe. And wonderful photos. I couldn’t agree more about that underlying hunger for a bit of adventure out on the road. I used to travel quite a bit for work and, difficult as some of those trips were, I miss them. If I were ever able to reach that mythical state called retirement, I’d love nothing more than to just get out on the road and explore...
